Creating a Fun, Safe, and Inclusive Space for Bachata in London

Who we are
Good Vibes Bachata is a volunteer-led community group working with London organizations to create a safer, more respectful scene for Bachata in London.
Our Team
Meet the fellow dancers that make up the Good Vibes Bachata team. (For safety and privacy, some members have an avatar.)
I believe that "Respect and care should be the pillars of a healthy community where we all feel safe, the good vibes initiative is building that strong pilar and we should all support it"

Jesi
I believe that "Dancing is about feeling safe, connected, and joyful. A code of conduct protects these values for everyone."

Eric
I believe that "[Good Vibes exists] to ensure dancing is a safe space; the way it’s meant to be."

Andreas
I believe that "Good Vibes is about creating a safe space: to dance, to voice concerns, to come together as a community that stands up for each other, and demands better of one another."

Agent Gold
I believe that "Any dancer, regardless of their experience level, should feel welcomed, empowered, respected, safe, and protected."

Respect Each Other
Unfair, disrespectful, or hurtful behavior is not okay. This includes using hurtful language, bullying, harassment, or making people feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Respect Personal Space
Don’t be too close unless your partner is very clearly comfortable with it, and respect personal boundaries.
Respect Spatial Awareness
Pay attention to your surroundings, so that you don’t injure your partner or other dancers.
Respect your Partner’s Safety
Don’t do moves that injure yourself or your partner, or that you are not able to do safely.
Respect the Right to Say No
Everyone has the right to say No—to a dance, to a move, to sharing contact details, an invite for drinks or anything else. No is a complete sentence. Respect their boundaries, accept their No without question, and don’t take it personally.
Right to Report when Someone isn’t Being Safe or Respectful
You have the right to report unsafe or hurtful behavior to organisers, teachers, or to Good Vibes Bachata if you don’t feel comfortable reporting directly to organisers.
If you break these rules, organisers in our London network can give you a warning, and might ban you from events for a fixed time.
